The project focused on the Nabatean site of Mugha’ir Shu’ayb, known for its monumental hypogean tombs and remarkable archaeological value.
A multidisciplinary team carried out a comprehensive program of archaeological survey and excavation, geoarchaeological and paleoenvironmental research, and conservation. Two major tombs were fully excavated following their identification during the initial survey.
Traditional fieldwork was enhanced with advanced digital techniques such as photogrammetry and laser scanning. Key deliverables included a 300-page technical report, an ESRI geodatabase, and extensive graphic and photographic documentation.
