AlUla Cultural Heritage Impact Assessment, KSA

Heritage Impact Assessments on 39 heritage assets across AlUla County — Hejaz Railway stations, Ottoman-era forts, rock art, tombs, and ancient settlements — supporting the cultural renewal of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Client/partner: Chronicle Heritage

We supported an international and collaborative project aimed at the revitalization of AlUla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in KSA, with our client Chronicle Heritage. The project was aimed at the cultural renewal of AlUla through the restoration of historic landmarks, the promotion of traditional crafts, and the integration of artistic initiatives. Along with Chronicle Heritage, we conducted Heritage Impact Assessments (HIA) on 39 heritage assets across AlUla County — including Hejaz Railway stations, Ottoman-era forts, rock art, tombs, and ancient settlements — prior to their formal protection.

A comprehensive heritage management plan was also developed to support the long-term preservation and sustainable use of these culturally significant sites.
