58th People&Projects and LumaTerra Announce Strategic Partnership in Cultural Heritage
Connecting international heritage expertise with regional understanding, from research and conservation to public engagement across West Asia and North Africa.
BENEVENTO, ITALY and KUWAIT CITY | 12 October 2026 58th People&Projects and LumaTerra Consulting have announced a strategic partnership to support cultural heritage projects across West Asia, North Africa, the Mediterranean and beyond.
The two women-led consultancies combine international expertise in archaeology, heritage research and conservation with regional knowledge, museum development and institutional advisory services. Together, they offer governments, cultural authorities and private developers a coordinated approach connecting heritage research and conservation with institutional planning, interpretation and public engagement.
Based in Italy, 58th People&Projects brings extensive experience in archaeology, heritage research, conservation and project management. Its regional portfolio includes the Hajj and Trade Routes survey and Mugha’ir Shu’ayb excavations for NEOM, heritage impact assessments at AlUla and conservation work at Ghasibah in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. Its international network connects heritage professionals, academic specialists and research institutions across multiple disciplines.
Based in Kuwait, LumaTerra brings deep knowledge of the region’s cultural, institutional and community contexts, alongside expertise in heritage strategy, museum development, interpretation, educational programming, visitor experience and institutional capability. Its leadership brings experience from major projects including Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre, Al Shaheed Park Museums, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre and The Scientific Center of Kuwait.
Connecting heritage research with its public purpose
Archaeological research, conservation, collections management and museum development are closely related, yet often planned separately. As a result, decisions about how heritage will be interpreted and shared with the public may come too late. This partnership brings these disciplines together from the outset, considering the scientific significance, conservation needs, research potential and public interpretation of heritage assets as connected priorities.
The approach also involves communities connected to heritage sites and collections, ensuring their knowledge, perspectives and cultural relationships help shape how heritage is interpreted and presented. The aim is to develop heritage projects that are scientifically sound, culturally relevant, institutionally sustainable and meaningful to the communities they serve.
International reach, regional understanding
The partnership gives clients access to international specialists supported by regional knowledge, cultural understanding and institutional experience. Teams can be assembled around each project’s needs, taking account of local priorities, community expectations and institutional requirements.
Combining specialist expertise with project management and institutional planning capabilities, the consultancies support coordinated delivery, scientific quality and operational feasibility. Multidisciplinary teams can be mobilised promptly, with deployment tailored to each assignment.
A shared commitment
Dr. Cinzia Perlingieri, Founder of 58th People&Projects, said:
“Years of working on complex international heritage projects have taught us the importance of bringing the right people together, anticipating challenges, and keeping projects moving. Our partnership with LumaTerra allows us to connect field research and conservation with museum development and public engagement, while mobilising multidisciplinary teams efficiently. We believe complex projects deserve clear thinking, strong coordination, and a relentless focus on results.”
Sarah Al-Karmi, Co-Founder of LumaTerra, said:
“Heritage does not begin or end with an archaeological discovery. What we learn, how we protect it, how we interpret it and how we share it with communities are all connected. This partnership brings those responsibilities together, helping what we discover and conserve today contribute to research, institutions and public understanding for years to come.”
Both consultancies share a commitment to protecting cultural heritage, respecting its communities and delivering projects with professionalism, care and accountability.
